Finishing touches
Mike Emerson, owner of New Haven Painting, sprays a coat of gold paint over one of 36 pipe organ pipes he and partner Nick Thornton were finishing for Peoria's Sacred Heart Church in the Cobatco building on NE Adams Street on Thursday evening. The pipes will be part of the finishing touches for the church's 100th anniversary renovation and are actually decoys, as the church's organ is now digital. DAVID ZENTZ/JOURNAL STAR
