Diabetes Walk

Cecilia, who walked with her team, Ceci and Company, has had juvenile diabetes for five years, requiring her to wear an insulin pump around the clock and endure the prick of a needle eight to 10 times a day to test her blood sugar. Fixer-upper

Jake Simonton, 15, peers under the seat of an old Schwinn he and friend Gary Skillestad, 11, were fixing up in Siminton's front yard in Mossville on Sunday afternoon. The friends found the discarded cruiser bike and the paint they used to spruce it up in a neighbor's dumpster. Simonton said the bike was fast, having raced the neighborhood kids Saturday and won.
