Diabetes Walk
Cecilia Boore, 8, laughs while keeping cool under an umbrella with, from left, Alaina Potts, 9, Kyla Huntsman, 9, and her cousin Addison Boore, 6, before embarking on the second annual JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes at Glen Oak Park on Sunday. Cecilia, who walked with her team, Ceci and Company, has had juvenile diabetes for five years, requiring her to wear an insulin pump around the clock and endure the prick of a needle eight to 10 times a day to test her blood sugar. " She's very brave. And just such a trooper," her mother, Heather Boore, says. Thousands participated in the walk, which raised funds for the effort to cure Juvenile Diabetes.
